Deledao ActiveInsights™ is the only instructional solution that uses InstantAI™ technology across all its products to prevent students from going down rabbit holes on YouTube, Google Sites, Google Doodle, and more.
Deledao ActiveInsights™ helps K12 IT, admins and educators streamline their workflows while defeating digital distractions, with the final result of helping to improve student engagement and helping to recover academic gains eroded by the pandemic.
Legacy solutions still use technology developed in the late ‘90s. They classify web domains into known categories in their databases to block or allow entire web domains. This no longer works in the age of user-generated content and is especially true for social media sites (e.g. YouTube, Facebook, etc.). Each page of a web domain might belong to a different category. Pages that dynamically populate (i.e. pages with endless scroll) may switch between categories as more content loads.
Legacy products don’t work well on Google search results. Some of them have evolved to support keyword blocking. This is still insufficient because keywords can have different meanings in different contexts. For instance, we cannot simply block the word “adult” to block for mature content because while “adult movies” is blocked, legitimate search results, such as “adult education,” are also blocked.
Deledao takes a completely different approach.
Deledao uses patented, real-time artificial intelligence technologies to instantly block or blur distracting and inappropriate digital content. InstantAI™, GameChanger™, and MediaMonitor™ bring students back to assigned instructional resources to keep them engaged with the lesson content.
Instead of pre-assigning categories to web domains, Deledao analyzes individual webpage content in real time with its patented artificial intelligence technology. Deledao’s text engine reads like humans do. The image analysis engine identifies racy and adult pictures to blur them in real time. Most impressively, it can even analyze videos in real time while the videos play. When the AI engine detects inappropriate video frames, it blurs and mutes the video until the inappropriate scene is over.
The Deledao products are 100% cloud-based and can be set up in 20 minutes or less.
On Chromebooks, Deledao is deployed as an extension from the Chrome Management Console.
On Windows and Mac OS devices, Deledao can be deployed on school devices to filter any browser with real-time AI technology.
On iOS devices, Deledao can be deployed through a cloud proxy solution.
Yes. If you use the Deledao ActiveInsights™ extension, it embeds anti-tracking technology to protect student data privacy online. Deledao shields students’ online activities from third parties that collect and sell student information to the highest bidder in online advertising. Without this shield, students are served targeted content that can shape their behaviors accordingly, which may negatively impact their growth.
With better technology to screen in real time and a focus on student privacy, you can have peace of mind that we keep students safe and learning.

All Deledao products (ActiveScan™, ActiveInstruct™ and ActivePulse™) are now sold and supported directly by Deledao (or through other authorized resellers), and continue to function as expected for existing customers.
General FAQ
Frequently asked questions
ActivePulse uses InstantAI™ to analyze patterns and context in student activity, rather than relying solely on exact keyword matches. This allows it to better recognize when language or behavior may indicate bullying or self-harm, even when phrasing is subtle or intentionally obscured.
When potentially concerning activity is identified, such as searches, messages, or content suggesting distress, these signals are escalated for human review before alerts are generated.
This approach helps surface meaningful concerns while reducing the noise commonly associated with keyword-only systems.
Yes. ActivePulse is designed to support school and district compliance with CIPA, FERPA, COPPA, and PPRA, helping identify potential student safety concerns while aligning with established privacy regulations.
Deledao follows strict data‑minimization practices, acts as a data processor on behalf of schools, and does not sell student data. Data is securely stored in the United States and handled in accordance with Deledao’s published privacy and security practices.
Deledao is also ISO/IEC 27001 certified, reflecting the use of established security controls, regular external audits, and ongoing risk management across its platform.
Yes. ActivePulse provides options for districts to involve parents as part of their student safety workflows. Schools can configure alert escalation processes that include parent or guardian notifications, based on district policies.
ActivePulse also offers a Parent Portal, where enabled, giving guardians visibility into their child’s school‑device activity through district‑controlled settings such as periodic reports or selected alerts.
All parent access is privacy‑protected: guardians can only view information related to their own child. These features are designed to help schools engage families when appropriate, while maintaining clear boundaries around student data and privacy.
ActivePulse requires Deledao’s web filtering platform to be deployed and cannot operate independently of it. However, districts do not need to immediately replace their existing web filter to begin evaluating ActivePulse.
Many schools deploy Deledao in a pilot environment first, allowing ActivePulse to provide student safety insights while the district’s current filter continues handling primary enforcement during the transition.
This phased approach gives IT teams, counselors, and administrators the opportunity to evaluate ActivePulse’s workflows, reporting, and overall fit before deciding whether to expand deployment across the district.
Yes. ActivePulse is designed to support deployments across districts of all sizes, including large and distributed student populations.
Performance depends on each district’s device environment, network conditions, and configuration. In practice, schools can scale ActivePulse across multiple campuses while maintaining consistent operation as part of their overall student safety platform.
Many districts begin with a pilot or phased rollout and expand over time, allowing IT teams to validate performance and workflows in their specific environment before scaling further.
ActivePulse is designed for streamlined deployment using existing device management and identity systems. It is delivered through Deledao’s cloud-based platform and does not require on‑prem hardware or major network changes.
Installation is lightweight and can often be completed in around 20 minutes for initial setup, with full deployment varying based on district environment and device complexity. Most districts are able to complete rollout within a short setup window, with more complex implementations taking additional time for configuration and scaling.
Once deployed, policies and alerts are managed through a centralized web console. Ongoing maintenance is minimal, as updates and system improvements are handled by Deledao.
ActivePulse is designed to integrate with common identity and rostering systems used by K–12 districts, including Google Classroom, ClassLink, Clever, or any Clever-compatible SIS (via OneRoster CSV).
This includes integration with widely used identity providers such as Google Workspace and Microsoft. These integrations help streamline user setup, keep student and staff data in sync, and reduce manual administrative work.
Once configured, alerts and reporting are associated with student records based on district data sources, helping ensure the appropriate school staff are notified without requiring manual entry.
ActivePulse allows districts to define alert recipients based on role and responsibility. IT administrators can configure alerts to be sent to designated staff such as guidance counselors, school psychologists, administrators, or other appropriate personnel.
In some deployments, districts may choose to include parents or guardians in specific alert workflows, based on district policies and escalation rules.
The Deledao console supports role‑based assignment of recipients by school, grade, or student group. Access to student alerts is limited to authorized staff, helping ensure appropriate visibility while maintaining student privacy.
ActivePulse works across student activity on managed devices, including web browsing and supported school‑related applications such as search, email, and collaborative tools, depending on district configuration.
It uses InstantAI™ to analyze patterns and context in content, rather than relying solely on keyword matching, helping surface signals related to student safety and wellbeing.
When potentially concerning activity is identified, such as content that may indicate distress or bullying, these signals are escalated for appropriate review and follow‑up based on district workflows. This approach helps uncover subtle or indirect indicators that traditional keyword‑based systems may overlook.
